Hello and welcome to Van Wig Elementary.  J.E. Van Wig Elementary opened its doors in 1956 and was named after a long-time resident and school board member.  It is located in the city of La Puente nestled near the San Gabriel Mountains. The neighborhood is residential, lined with an abundance of trees, culture and sense of community. 

The students of Van Wig Elementary are proud to be returning to a school with new playgrounds, lovely landscaping, safe and sound fencing, modernized restrooms, and updated facilities. All of this was accomplished thanks to our community who supported the students and the school via a bond measure.  Surely, Van Wig Elementary School is a place where parents and the community alike are proud of its students and interested in their academic, social and emotional well-being
